Beech Bend was place to go lieu of vacations

About: Carol Perkins: Beech Bend Park

To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

When I was a young child we went to Beech Bend Park every year for a family reunion. I think it was the Jessie family I am not for sure.

I have fond memories of the screened in pavilion where we ate our lunch and then afterward the younger family members would go up on the hill and ride rides and play games until time to go home. I had so much fun because it was like going on vacation.

We didn't go on vacations back then because both my parents worked on the farm milking cows and raising crops so they were tied down, but once a year we went to Beech Bend and had the best time.
