ACHS A-Team scores huge 52-point Quick Recall victory at State!

Today's BIG STORY: Brainy Adair County High School A-team is off to flying start at KAAC Governor's Cup competition now in progress at the Galt House, Louisville, KY. Awards ceremony is this afternoon.

The Academic Team is off to a good start at the KAAC Governor's Cup State competition.

The Quick Recall team has advanced to day two of the State Finals competition with big wins in the Sunday rounds of the competition.



The team opened with a stunning 52-point victory in the first round by defeating 9th Region Runners-Up Covington High School with a score of 59-7.

This is one of the largest margins of victory in the history of KAAC State Finals competition.

The team advanced to day two by then handily defeating 3rd Region Champions Daviess County by a score of 38-24.

The team drew Louisville Ballard in the opening session of Monday's single elimination playoffs.

The results of the Sunday afternoon draw have Adair County placed in a bracket with 5 of the top 6 recognized programs in the State, which together add up to the last 13 years of state champions at Governor's Cup.

The Written Assessments and Team Future Problem Solving competitions have also concluded, and the team awaits their results which will be announced following the Finals of Quick Recall, Monday afternoon, March 16, 2009, during the awards ceremony.
