These fishermen from Parksville in Boyle County were the advance party for their family groupon Saturday, August 4, 2007. Steven Holt, foreground,and Steve King have been coming to Green River Lake,for years they said. The pier is open year round.Holmes Bend Resort/Marina opens today, Sunday March 15, 2009 for the season, which continues to October 31, 2009.

Mountain Laurel from over Holmes Bend
It's early now to see it, and Adair County is in its Yellow Season now, but Mountain Laurel could be back in bloom in 6-8 weeks on the bluffs overlooking Holmes Bend and Green River Lake. This display in front of Helen Newton's home on Corbin's Bend Road was seen on May 18, 2008.
