Heather Cravens awarded annual Carhartt scholarship Junior business major is graduate of Adair County High School Click on headline for complete story and photo By Sharon Smith Heather Cravens has been named the recipient of the Carhartt, Inc. 2009 annual scholarship award. A graduate of Adair County High School, Heather received various honors while serving as a member of the marching band for four years. She also was a member of the BETA Club, National Honor Society and various other clubs while attending high school. Heather is a junior at Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, where her major is business administration, with an emphasis in accounting. She is currently a member of Lindsey Wilson's Accounting Club. Heather works at Movie Warehouse while attending college and is active with the Hadley's Community Church Youth Group. She will be participating in Adair County High School's Marching Band as alumni in the 2009 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. Heather is the daughter of Ralph and Sharon Smith, and the late Alvin Cravens. Sharon is an Internal Quality Auditor at Carhartt's Glasgow Sortation facility. Awarded annually, Carhartt's Scholarship Program is designed to assist its associates with college funding for their dependent children. The scholarship may be used for tuition, books, on campus housing expenses and required course materials. Eligibility requires a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better in an accredited high school or college and the recipient must have participated in extracurricular activities and/or taken part in community service activities and/or part-time work.
