Two die following crash on LBN, E. of Russell Springs, KY A two-vehicle collision on the Louie B. Nunn, seven miles east of Russell Springs, KY yesterday afternoon resulted in the deaths of two people. Candice Elaine Johnson, 28, Blackwater, VA, the driver of one vehicle, and Kaden Johnson, a passenger in her vehicle, were pronounced deceased at the UK Medical Center in Lexington, KY, by Fayette County Coroner Larry Owens. The collision occurred Friday afternoon, March 6, 2009, at 4:20pmCT, when a 2001 Chevy being operated by Candice Johnson, was traveling east on the LBN Parkway and the driver lost control, crossed the median, and was struck in the passenger side upon entering the westbound lane by a 2001 Chevy being operated by Joseph Matthew Dalton, 40, of Russell Springs, KY. Candice Johnson and three passengers, Kaden Johnson, 3; Christian Johnson, 5, and Logan Bruner, 8 months, were all belted and/or in child restraint devices and all were transported to the UK Medical Center in Lexington. Dalton, who was also belted, was not injured. The incident was investigated by Trooper Dewayne Holder of Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY.
