Obituary: James Russell Reece, 90, Edmonton, KY Mr. Reeces was the head of a highly respected family, a lifetime farmer, a veteran of 42 months service in WWII, and an active member of the Metcalfe County VFW Post. He was a member of the Chestnut Grove Christian Church near Breeding in Adair County, KY and will be buried in the cemetery there. James Russell Reece, 90, Edmonton, KY, died Thursday, March 5, 2009, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY. The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, March 8, 2009, at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Chestnut Grove Cemetery near Breeding, KY, in Adair County. Visitation will be from 2:00pmCT until 8:00pomCT, Saturday, March 7, 2009, and after 9:00amCT, Sunday, March 8, 2009, at Butler Funeral Home, East Street on the Square, Edmonton, KY. He was the son of the late Rufus and Betty Strange Reece. Mr. Reece was a US Army veteran who served in the South Pacific for a period of 42 months in World War II. He was a lifetime farmer and a member of the Chestnut Grove Christian Church. He was an active member of the Metcalfe County VFW Post. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Nell Boston Reece.
