WRH Hospital Auxiliary News February 2009 By Sue C. Stivers Membership & Public Relations Chairman The Westlake Regional Hospital Auxiliary met Monday, February 16, 2009, at 6:30pmCT at the Hospital Cafe for their monthly meeting. President Margaret Sparks called the meeting to order by welcoming those in attendance. We were happy to welcome Stephanie Caldwell, as guest speaker. The minutes of the past meeting was read by Secretary Sharon Harris and the financial report was given by Treasurer Evelyn Phelps. Jewelry Fair cancelled; to be rescheduled President Sparks announced that the Jewelry Fair, scheduled for January was cancelled due to bad weather, but will be rescheduled for sometime in April. The exact date will be announced later. Workers needed for gift shop President Sparks again stated that workers were needed in the gift shop and if anyone would like to volunteer for a couple of hours each week or to work on Sunday afternoon to contact her at 384-4139. An array of beautiful gift ideas are available at the gift shop. Proceeds from the gift shop and other events sponsored by the Auxiliary are used to help the hospital and the community. Thank card from Edna Yarberry A "thank you" card was read from Edna Yarberry, one of our dear members who now resides at Summit Manor. The Auxiliary loves and appreciates you Edna and misses you being with us. Scrub sale is March 23, 2009 It was announced that the "Scrub " sale would be March 23 and March 25 in the lobby of the Hospital. The public is invited to come shop for scrubs at discount prices. New primary care opened in Casey County Pauline Davenport reported that a new Primary Care Center had opened in Casey County. Stephanie Caldwell is speaker Guest speaker of the evening was Stephanie Caldwell, Director of the Agape House. She gave an interesting and informative presentation on their mission, what clients can learn by attending classes that will help them be a better parent, Women of the Bible Classes, Professional Counseling along with many other Earn While You Learn Programs. The agape House Pregnancy Resource Center is located at 114 Office Park Road in Columbia and can be reached by phone at 384-1699, or by email at agapehouse@duo-county.com. You are invited to visit their website at www.agapehouseprc.com. Stephanie did an outstanding presentation and the Auxiliary says a special thank for sharing her time and talents with us. Hostess was Margaret Sparks; attendance list Hostess Margaret Sparks served delicious refreshments to the following: Wanda Bardin, Charles Barnes, Pauline Davenport, Lloyd French, Shirley Grider, Sharon Harris, Evelyn Phelps, Charles and Yvonne Marshall, Shirley Reliford, and Mary Evelyn Walker. Next meeting is March 16, 2009 The next meeting will be held Monday, March 16, 2009, at 6:30pmCT at the Hospital Cafe. Sharon Harris will be the hostess.
