Update, 3:38pmCT, Tuesday, February 24, 2009: Precious puppies get another loving home

By Barbara Armitage

No creature on this earth deserves to be "thrown away". That's exactly what happened to these two beautiful little puppies.

Someone dumped these babies on Bull Run Road just off Hwy 206 and left them there to starve to death. By huddling under boulders on the cold wet ground they survived at least 2 days without food before we found them.

After a couple of good meals and a bath both puppies are doing well. The black one is a male and the brown one is female; both puppies are happy and full of energy.

Our house is overrun with rescued animals - 11 dogs and 5 cats. As much as I would like to keep these two we can't. We are looking for more than just a "good home" for them.

The person who adopts (hopefully both of them) needs to be prepared to give them a loving home where they will be treated like family members. There must be a safe place for them to run and play, healthy food, medical care including spaying and neutering, and most of all lots of love.

Adair County has recently been overwhelmed with the rescue of hundreds of animals from an abusive situation.

Because of this the possibility of finding a home in our community may be dim. I am asking that of the many out of town readers of CM hopefully one of you can give a home to these puppies. I am willing to drive them to their new home if necessary where ever it may be.If you can help please call Barbara Armitage at (270) 250-2979.

Update, 3:38pmCT, Tuesday, February 24, 2009: Precious puppies get another loving home
THESE TWO ADORABLE PUPPIES are available for adoption. From the looks one can tell they appreciate their recent change of fortune and love being held by Wayne Armitage. But Tucker's Station Farms has too many rescued animals now; too many pets are abandoned on Bull Run Road for one family to take in, so Barbara and Wayne want to find a good home for this male and female pair. For the family which meets their strict requirements, they'll even take the puppies to their new residence, even if it's one county over.
