Letter: Background information on Bomar Heights name

About: Wants information on naming of Bomar Heights

To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

My niece is a descendant of Robert Bowmer (born ca. 1740) and Chloe Collins Bowmer (born ca. 1749). Her lineage includes Robert and Chloe's descendants:

I. Benjamin Bowmar (1775-1858).
II. Julia Bowmar Cravens (born ca. 1801).
III. Julia Ann Cravens Garnett (ca. 1837-after 1909).
IV. Sarah Murrell Garnett Penick (ca. 1866-1955).
V. Malinda Fanny Penick Stone (1892-1986).
My niece's Bowmar ancestors were among the earliest Adair County, Kentucky pioneers. It will be a distinct pleasure to confer with descendants of Robert Bowmer and Chloe Collins Bowmer regarding the genealogy of the historic Adair County Bowmar family. Probably members of the Bowmar, Bowmer, and Bomar families are all related! Bomar Heights was surely named in honor of my niece's Bowmar ancestral family!

E.H. Lepiarczyk
