CU Valentine Pageant is Friday, February 13, 2009

Winner will represent Campbellsville University in Mountain Laurel Festival

Campbellsville University will hold the annual Valentine Pageant Friday, February 13, at 7:30pmET in The Gheens Recital Hall of Gosser Fine Arts Center.

Nine students will represent CU and their organization as they vie for the title of 2009 Valentine Queen in the annual pageant hosted by CU's Student Government Association.

The event is free and open to the public.



The 2009 Miss Valentine candidates are:
  • Emily Bryant of Louisville, KY, a junior majoring in biblicalstudies with a minor in music, representing the Junior class

  • CarmenDrake of Hodgenville, KY a junior majoring in music education,representing Delta Omicron

  • Amanda Edmondson of Morganfield, KY, asophomore majoring in theater with a double-minor in Spanish andbusiness management, representing CU Harlequins, the university'stheater club

  • Andrea Fielding of Liberty, KY, a senior majoring in elementaryeducation, representing KEA-SP, Kentucky Education Association Student Program

  • Natasha Horton of Stanford, KY, a senior majoring in businessadministration with an emphasis in administrative technology,representing Student Government Association

  • Jennifer Lilly of OliveHill, KY, a sophomore majoring in English with a minor in secondaryeducation, representing Baptist Campus Ministry

  • Liz Lowery of Westmoreland, TN, a junior majoring ineducational ministries with a minor in Spanish, representing Stapp Hall

  • Jessica Miller of Rushville, IN, a junior majoring in social work,representing S.W.I.T.C.H., Social Workers In Touch Can Help

  • LaurenShrader of West Chester, OH, a junior majoring in public relations,representing Fellowship of Christian Athletes
Last year's Valentine Queen, Miranda Meeks, will crown the 2009 winner. The winner of this year's pageant will move on to the annual Mountain Laurel Festival in Pineville, KY in May.

Brittany Hall, last year's second runner-up, who went on to the Mountain Laurel Festival in May 2008, will perform the intermission talent. Hall was awarded Miss Congeniality in the Mountain Laurel Festival. Hall was able to move on in the pageant as second-runner-up because Meeks and last year's first-runner-up, Lauren Shrader, were unable to attend.
