Obituary: Jimmy Dale Coffey, 64

Mr. Coffey was a member of a highly respected NW Adair County family, a member of Pickett's Chapel United Methodist Church, and was a former partner in Coffey's Trucking

Jimmy Dale Coffey, 64, Portland community of Adair County, died Friday, February 6, 2009, at 3:16amCT, at the Medical Center of Bowling Green.

The funeral service will be Sunday, February 8, 2009, at 1:30pmCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Roger McKinney and Bro. Herbert Janes officiating. Burial will be in Columbia Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3:00pmCT, Saturday, February 7, 2009, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY.



He was the son of the late Ray and Christola Twyman Coffey, a member of Pickett's Chapel United Methodist Church, and a former partner in Coffey's Trucking.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Kimbler Coffey, Portland, and the following:
  • Two sons and daughters-in-law: Darrell and Stacey Coffey and Gary and Sandy Coffey, all of Portland

  • One daughter and son-in-law: Marsha and Steve Chapman, Edmonton, KY

  • One sister and brother-in-law: Joyce and Billy Rodgers, Portland, KY

  • Six grandchildren: Lindsey Young, April Loy; and Jon, Megan, and Andrew Coffey; and Robert Smith

  • Three great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends
Grissom-Martin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
