Obituary: Robert Linzie Dowell, 73

Mr. Dowell was a highly regarded member of a prominent Adair County family. He was retired businessman, who returned to Columbia after owning and operating Economy Service-Heating and Air Conditioning in Elizabethtown, KY.

Robert Linzie Dowell, 73, 1098 Hemlock Circle, ColumbiaKY, passed away suddenly, Thursday, February 5, 2009, at2:59pmCT, at the Westlake Regional Hospital Emergency Room inColumbia, KY.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 8, 2009 at 2:00pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Larry Williams and Rev. Ronnie Dooley the officiating clergy. The family has chosen cremation. The family will receive friends after 11:30amCT Sunday, February 8, 2009, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in Columbia, KY.



He was born April 22, 1935, the son of the late Robert Linzie and Eunice Rogers Dowell of Adair County, KY.

He is survived by his wife, Dodie Dowell, Columbia, KY, and the following:
  • One daughter: Donna Stotts of Columbia, KY

  • Two sons: Barry Dowell and Larry Dowell, both of Columbia, KY

  • One sister: Dorene Miller of Campbellsville, KY

  • Two grandsons: Patrick Stotts and Adrian Stotts

  • Four great grandchildren: Kallie Stotts, Laney Stotts, Miley Stotts,and Evan Stotts

  • One aunt: Helen Dowell, Columbia, KY

  • Special friend: Bobby Moore of Columbia, KY
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Carol Dowell, in 1960.

Mr. Dowell was the owner of Economy Service - Heating and Air Conditioning Service, in Elizabethtown, KY for many years.

Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, is in charge of arrangements.
