KSP Post 15 issues activity report for January 2009

Fatalities up in post area, down statewide, for January 2009 over prior month year ago

During the month of January, 2009, there were 33 traffic accidents investigated by the State Police working in the Post 15 area in the 11 counties of Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell, Taylor and Washington.

There were five fatalities:



  • Jack E. Robertson, Greensburg, Kentucky, was killed in Green County on January 6, 2009.
  • Jon C. Sneed. Columbia, Kentucky, was killed in Adair County on January 9, 2009
  • Willie J. Adams, Washington, Pennsylvania, was killed in Washington County on January 13, 2009
  • Robert W. Miles,, Springfield, Kentucky, was killed in Washington County on January 13, 2009
  • Angelica N. Heath, Campbellsville, Kentucky, was killed in Green County on January 20, 2009
This brings our yearly fatality count to 5 compared with 3 through this same period in 2008.

State wide fatality count stands at 54 compared with 62 through this same period in 2008.

During the month of January, 2008, there were 914 citations written, 192 courtesy notices written, 1,030 vehicles inspected, 1008 complaints answered, 97 motorists assisted, 88 criminal cases opened and 241 criminal arrests made.
