LWC Womens Basketball uses strong 2nd half to beat G-town Sierra Rambert has career high 26 points. Viktoria has 13th double-double By John Hanneman, LWC Sports Information COLUMBIA, KY -- The Lindsey Wilson College womens basketball team shot 50 percent from the floor in the second half to help erase a halftime deficit as the Blue Raiders defeated Georgetown (KY) College 66-61 today at Biggers Sports Center. Despite trailing by as many five points in the second half, Lindsey Wilson (17-6, 3-2 in the Mid-South Conference) clawed back to tie the game at 49-49 with just over eight minutes left. Junior guard Sierra Ramberts basket with 8:08 left to put the Blue Raiders ahead for good en route to the win. Rambert finished the night with a career-high 26 points. The Philadelphia native did the majority of her damage from the charity stripe making 14-of-16 free throws for the game. Georgetown junior guard Jayme Gilbert cut the Lindsey Wilson lead to 59-58 with 3:21 left, but a Rambert answer stopped the Tigers momentum and gave the Blue Raiders a 61-58 lead with 2:21 left. Gilbert finished with 16 points. Rambert pushed the lead to 63-58 with a pair of free throws before the Tigers (14-10, 3-3) made another run. The Tigers cut the Lindsey Wilson lead to three on two different occasions before sophomore guard Diondra Anthony clinched the game with a couple free throws to give the Blue Raiders the 66-61 victory. Lindsey Wilson sophomore center Viktoria Krell finished with her conference-leading 13th double-double of the season scoring 14 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Sophomore Bethany Spillman and senior Ewa Bukowska chipped in nine points each. Georgetown freshman guard Jessica Waddle scored a career-high 16 points, 14 in the first half to help the Tigers lead at the break. Senior guard Katie Filiatreau joined Gilbert and Waddle in double figures scoring 10 points.
