KSP arrests man after 3 hour armed standoff in Green Co., KY

KSP, Greensburg, Green County officers, firemen and rescue personnel coordinate effort after Green County Sheriff's Department answers domestic disturbance call. Report says shots fired inside residence and at officers. No injuries reported in incident

Kentucky State Police have taken a man into custody in Green County. Detective Israel Slinker of Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY, charged Rufus Clay Brown with wanton endangerment 1st, assault 4th, wanton endangerment 1st police officer, criminal mischief 1st and criminal mischief 3rd.

On Sunday, January 25, 2008 at approximately 10:20amCT, the Green County Sheriff's Department received a complaint of a domestic disturbance with possible shots fired.



When officers arrived it was determined that shots had been fired and Rufus Clay Brown remained, alone, inside of the residence.

Local officers and Kentucky State Police officers arrived at the scene and secured the area. During this time, police say, additional shots were fired inside of the residence and in the direction of officers.

Rufus Clay Brown surrendered at 1:38pm hours, after approximately 3 hours of negotiations. Neither Brown nor law enforcement personnel received injuries during the stand off.

The Kentucky State Police was assisted at the scene by the Green County Sheriff's Office, Greensburg Police Department, Green County Constables, and Fire and Rescue Personnel.
