Obituary: Opal Edith Osborne, 85

She was a member of the Old Paths Holiness Church and was the head of a large respected family. She leaves 43 living descendants. Mrs. Osborne was a homemaker

Opal Edith Osborne, 85, of 401 Edwin Bryant Road, Columbia, KY, passed away Friday, Jan. 23, 2009 at 10:05amCT, at Summit Manor Health & Rehab in Columbia, KY.

The funeral service Monday, January 26, 2009 at 11:00amCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Tim Bartee and Bro. Tim Cooper the officiating clergy. Interment in Freedom Church Cemetery. Visitation after 2:30pmCT, Sunday, January 25, 2009.



She was born October 21, 1923, the daughter of the late Edgar and Florence Siler Gross and was preceded in death by her husband Carl L. Osborne on November 17, 2000

Survived by the following:
  • Three daughters: Rebecca Ehlers of Piqua, OH; Carol Ann Woods of Vinemont, AL, and Sharon Lee Wenson of Dawsonville, GA

  • Three sons: Carl L. Osborne, Jr., Sidney, OH; Danny Osborne, London, KY; and Robert Osborne of Columbia, KY

  • Thirteen grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
She was a member of Old Paths Holiness Church at Knifley, KY, and a homemaker.
