Patch of ice in curve blamed for KY 49 injury crash in Casey

An injury collision occurred at 10:12pmCT on KY 49, four miles north of Liberty.

Brandy N. Jones, age 18, of Liberty, KY, who was not belted, was operating a 1995 Ford pickup, traveling south on KY 49 when she entered a curve, striking a patch of ice,causing her to loose control of her vehicle, leaving the roadway and overturning. She was transported to Casey County Hospital by EMS where she was treated and released.



Kayla Russell, 17, of Liberty, KY not belted, a passenger in Jones vehicle, was also transported by EMS to Casey County Hospital, where she was also treated and released.

Hannah Martin, 16, Liberty, KY, who was also not belted and was a passenger in Jones vehicle was transported by private vehicle to Casey County Hospital where she was also treated and released.

The incident was investigated by Trooper Bryan Shepard of Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY.
