Lindsey Wilson Womens Basketball beats Pikeville 80-64

Viktoria Krell, Sierra Rambert, and Diondra Anthony in double figures in MSC season opener

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College womens basketball team scored 11 straight points late in the first half and cruised to an 80-64 win over visiting Pikeville (KY) College on Saturday at Biggers Sports Center.

The Blue Raiders (15-4, 1-0 in the Mid-South Conference) turned a 31-27 lead with 2:58 left in the first half into a 42-27 lead with 41 seconds left until break with the decisive run. Lindsey Wilson extended its lead to as many as 25 in the second half to win their 10th straight game over the Lady Bears (13-6, 0-2).



Three Blue Raiders scored in double figures led by junior guard Sierra Ramberts 18 points. Sophomore center Viktoria Krell added 15 and sophomore guard Diondra Anthony contributed a career-high 12 points.

Pikeville sophomore Lakia Bailey scored 15 points off the Lady Bear bench. Sophomore Natiera Hinton -- the conferences leading scorer at 20.3 points per game -- finished with 14 on 3-of-13 shooting from the field.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 5 p.m. CT on Thursday, Jan. 22 as the Blue Raiders travel to Campbellsville (Ky.) University for a mens and womens doubleheader. The men's game follows at 7:00pmCT
