Obituary: William Ralph Edwards, 89

Mr. Edwards was a member of a respected Metcalfe County family, a retired farmer, and was a veteran of World War II

William Ralph Edwards age 89 of Edmonton died Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at, Glenview Health Care in Glasgow, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be held 1:00pm CT Friday, January 16, 2009, at Butler Funeral Home in, Edmonton, KY with burial in the Foundation Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00pmCT, until 8:00pmCT, Thursday, January 15, 2009, and after 9:00amCT, Friday, January 16, 2090, at Butler Funeral Home.

He was the son of the late Robert Lee, and Beulah Mae Jewell Edwards. He was a retired farmer and World War II army, veteran.

He is survived by the following:
  • One brother: Rodney Edwards of Edmonton

  • Three sisters: Shirley Humphrey of Center, KY; and Adrie Camden and Doris Gilbert, both of Indiana

  • And several nieces and nephews
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Regina and two infant children, four brothers, Garnett, Burns, James and Clifford Edwards; and two sisters, Helen Nickerson and Nola Caffee.
