Lindsey Wilson Mens Basketball survives Temple Baptist 73-64

No. 22 in Nation Blue Raiders are now 12-2 on season

COLUMBIA, KY - The Lindsey Wilson College mens basketball team survived a scare from winless Temple Baptist (OH) College on Saturday, winning 73-64 at Biggers Sports Center.

The No. 22-ranked Blue Raiders (12-2) used a 9-1 run to break open a game that featured five ties and 15 lead changes.



With five minutes left, Lindsey Wilson junior forward Tim Parkers driving lay up ignited the deciding run giving the Blue Raiders a 58-56. LWC would not trail again. Parker scored five of his team-high 12 points during the run.

Lindsey Wilson secured the win making all six of its free throws down the stretch to clinch the nine-point victory.

In the first half, Lindsey Wilson closed the half with a 10-3 run to lead at the break 35-27.

Lindsey Wilson came out of the locker room strong scoring back-to-back baskets in the first minute of the second half stretching its lead to a game high 12 points (39-27).

Temple Baptist (0-12) answered right back going on a 22-7 run over the next eight minutes to regain the lead 49-46. Freshman center Greg Ressor dominated during the run scoring seven points and grabbing seven rebounds. Ressor finished with a game-high 18 points and 12 rebounds to go along with five blocked shots.

But the Blue Raiders regained the momentum down the stretch to avoid their second straight loss.

Despite out-scoring the Rams 38-22 in the paint, the Blue Raiders were man-handled on the boards without the services of junior center Paki Brown and senior center Sam Walton. Temple Baptist out-rebounded Lindsey Wilson -- who entered the game out-rebounding their opponents by more than nine rebounds per game -- 39-30.

Lindsey Wilson junior guard Ismar Neto joined Parker with team-high honors with 12 points. Junior forward Andrija Tintor (11) and senior guard Quintez Thomas (10) joined Neto and Parker in double digits.

Guard Eric Head (13), center Rick Trimble (10) and forward Jeshua Bryant (10) all joined Ressor in double figures. Bryant pulled down 10 rebounds, recording a double-double.

Lindsey Wilsons scheduled game with Ohio State University Mansfield on Sunday has been postponed due to inclement weather preventing Mansfield from making the trip. No make-up date has been set.The Blue Raiders men's basketball team returns to action at 7:00pmCT on Tuesday, January 13, 2008, as Lindsey Wilson hosts Brescia (Ky.) University at Biggers Sports Center.
