Casey shooting victim identified as Ramon R. Carillo Also, alias Felipe Garcia Vazquez, of Mexico, identified through Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS). Billy Gregory, Public Affairs Officer, Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY Update on January 9, 2009 The Kentucky State Police have identified the victim as Ramon R. Carillo, alias Felipe Garcia Vazquez of Mexico. Lead investigator, Detective George Atwood, said that the victim was identified through the AFIS (Automated Fingerprint Identification System) section of the Kentucky State Police by matching finger prints that were found in the state of Florida where the victim had a criminal record. Additionally, the victim was shot multiple times by the accused as he (the victim) was allegedly assaulting another Hispanic male. Update on January 02, 2009 The Kentucky State Police have charged 25-year-old, Isidro Perez, with Murder and Tampering with Physical Evidence. Perez, arrested at 23:00 EDT, was lodged in the Casey County Jail. The Murder occurred at 5200 US 0127 North. At this time, the victim's identity remains unknown. An autopsy has been scheduled for today in Frankfort, KY. The investigation is ongoing and other details will be released as they become available. Detective George Atwood is investigating.Original news release on January 01, 2009 At 16:52 CST, Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY, received a shots fired /heard call from the Casey county dispatch in Liberty, KY. Kentucky State Police Troopers and Detectives are currently investigating the shooting death of one Hispanic male and have one person of interest in custody. Witness interviews are currently ongoing.
