KSP Post 15 releases Gamaliel bank robber wanted poster

By Tpr. Billy Gregory, Public Affairs Officer
Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY

The Kentucky State Police have issued a wanted poster, which accompanies this story, for the suspect in the Tuesday, January 6, 2009, robbery of the South Central Bank in Gamaliel, KY.

The suspect is also wanted for the theft of a vehicle. Kentucky State Police Detectives have focused their attention on locating a green, 1998 Nissan Frontier, extended cab pickup truck stolen from Clay County, TN earlier today.

The truck may have a "Breathe Wright" sign on both driver and passenger side doors. Additionally, the suspect is approximately 5 foot 10 inches in height and weighs approximately 150 pounds. If anyone has any information, please contact the Kentucky State Police at 1-800-222-5555 or by dialing 911

In the original story, posted yesterday, Tuesday, January 6, 2009, we wrote:
Monroe County Sheriff's Department received a call at 09:02CT in reference to a robbery at South Central Bank of Gamaliel in Monroe County. A white male entered the bank and indicated that he was armed. The suspect demanded money and received an undisclosed amount.

The suspect left the scene and may be operating a Nissan Car with black trim on the rear of the vehicle. The vehicle was last seen headed west on KY Highway 0087. A second vehicle of interest is a 1998 Nissan truck, green in color with TN registration plate 839-BND.

This vehicle was reported stolen out of Clay County, TN earlier this morning. The suspect was last seen wearing a gray, hooded sweatshirt and should be considered armed and dangerous.

If anyone has any information, please contact the Kentucky State Police at 1-800-222-5555 or by dialing 911. Surrounding Kentucky and Tennessee authorities as well as the FBI have been notified. More details will be released as soon as they are available.
Kentucky State Police are no longer considering a Nissan car as a potential vehicle of interest. As reported yesterday, the 1998 Nissan Frontier is the vehicle of interest.
