GUESS WHERE GAS WAS $1.749 this morning, 15 miles from $1.479 gas? By the Fruit of Loom in Jamestown, lower right, and in the Mid-Town area of US 127, upper right, in Russell Springs on Saturday morning, gas was $1.479. In Columbia on Jamestown ST, it was $1.749, the big picture.

RUTHIE HADLEY, Hadley Valley, District 3 of Adair County near Cundiff, right, popular former owner of Ruthie's Restaurant in Columbia, KY, has been at Lure Lodge at Lake Cumberland Resort Park for the past four years. With her is the resort dining room supervisor, Kathy Hale, of the Hale's Highway area of Russell County. Ruthie says she loves the work there, especially the view. "On busy days--and we sometimes feed as many as 900--I just walk over to the window on my break and get my composure back. It's wonderful therapy." A Today Feature picture
