Obituary: Ernestine Stephens, 82

She was member of a respected Adair County family and of the Columbia Church of the Nazarene. Ms. Stephens was a caregiver

Ernestine Stephens age 82 years a resident of Summit Manor Health & Rehab Columbia, KY, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008 at 5:15 A.M. at Westlake Regional Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Thursday January 1, 2009 at 1:00pm at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, with Brother Scott Ezell officiating. Interment in Haven Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday December 31, 2008 beginning at 4:00pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

She was born March 14, 1926, the daughter of the late Samuel Allen and Louella Keen Stephens.

She is survived by the following:
  • Three brothers: Glenn Stephens, Columbia, KY: Frank Stephens, Louisville, KY: and David Stephens of Ohio.

  • Three sisters: Dinah Bowen, Columbia, KY: Wanda Ballou, Columbia, KY; and Nona Jeffries of Horse Cave, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
She was a member of Columbia First Church of the Nazarene and a care giver.
