Obituary: Elmer Ray Watson, 70

He was a member of Light House Tabernacle Church, full time minister, telephone company employee, and craftsman

Elmer Ray Watson, 70, 164 Louie Court, Columbia, KY (the Egypt community), passed away Friday, December 26, 2008, at Audubon Hospital in Louisville, KY.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, December 31, 2008, at 1:00pmCT at the Light House Tabernacle Church, Knifley, KY, with Bro. Bill Warren and others the officiating clergy. Visitation is after 5:00pmCT Tuesday, December 30, 2008, and 6:00-8:00amCT Wedenesday at the funeral home and after 9:00amCT at the church. Interment will be in Robinson Chapel Cemetery, Knifley.



He was born October 16, 1938, the son of the late Hubert and Lassie Moore of Chattaroy, WV. He was preceded in death by one son, Joshua Aaron Watson, in 1976.He is survived by his wife, Barbara Jo Bailey Watson, Columbia, KY, and the folllowing:
  • One daughter: Mary Jo Troub, Castle Rock, CO

  • One son: James Ray Watson: Columbia, KY

  • Three sisters: Leona Reynolds, Loraine, OH; Ruth Gay Carter, Elyria, OH; and Vada Carol Gill, OH

  • Two brothers: William Wtson, Peebles, OH, and Jim Watson, Orrtanna, PA

  • Two grandchildren: Christopher and Stacy Troub

  • And several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends
He was a member of the Light House Tabernacle Church, Knifley, KY, and was a full-time minister. He worked for Cen-tel Telephone and crafted Belt buckles.
