Obituary: John Arnold Denton, 77

He was a retired factory worker and was a member of a respected E. Adair family

John Arnold Denton, 77, of Columbia, KY, died Tuesday, December 23, 2008, at 1:15amCT at Summit Manor Health and Rehab.

The funeral service will be Friday, December 26, 2008, at 10:00amCT, at Freedom Separate Baptist Church with Bro. Wayne Keith officiating. Visitation will be after 5:00pmCT, Thursday, December 25, 2008, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY.


He was the son of the late John and Rissie Conover Denton and was a retired factory worker.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Rooks Denton, on January 22, 1998.He is survived by the following:
  • One daughter and son-in-law: Bonnie and Joe Birdwell, Columbia, KY

  • Four sisters: Chatherine Fisher and Cleoda Cox, both of Indiana; and Mary Carter and Helen Denton, both of Columbia, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Billy, Daryl and Latisha Birdwell, and Randall Denton
  • And six grandchildren
  • Burial will be in Freedom Cemetery.
