Obituary: Ceburn Ray Martin, 84, dies at TJ. Samson

Mr. Martin was a veteran of World War II, and a retired farmer and school bus driver. He was a member of Pleasant Grove CP Church in Metcalfe County, KY

Ceburn Ray Martin, 84, Edmonton, KY, died Sunday, December 21, 2008, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY.

He was the son of the late Virgil and Pearl Estes Martin, a retired farmer and school bus driver, and was a veteran of World War II.



He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 23, 2008, at 2:00pmCT at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton, KY. Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 8:00pmCT, Monday, December 21, 2008, and after 9:00amCT Tuesday at the funeral home.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby Sullivan Martin and the following:
  • Two sons: Danny and wife Linda Martin, Edmonton, KY; and Lyndon ad wife Paul Martin, also of Edmonton, KY

  • Three grandchildren: Kim (Dale) Compton, Tracy (John) Miller, and John (Dru) Martin, all of Edmonton

  • Five grandchildren and one step grandchildren

  • and by three sisters: Cromer Shive and Clara Shaw, both of Edmonton, KY; and Lourene Hurt, Glasgow, KY
Burial will be in Missionary Mound Cemetery.

Butler Funeral Home, Edmonton, KY, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
