Letter: Director of Agape House sends thanks to Adair County Dear Editor, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of those in Adair and surrounding counties who have supported us this year. Beginning a non-profit is never easy, and we have endured some obstacles, but the citizens and Christians who have stood behind us have been such a blessing. We don't ask God to bless what we're doing. We do what God is blessing. God has provided so many evidences of His blessing this ministry. Many individuals have given time, money, and prayer to us and we are so thankful for each and every one of you. Additionally, we would like to thank the following churches for allowing us to come in and make a presentation to their congregations: New Life for the Nations, Eunice Church of God, Haven Mission Independent Church, and Glensfork United Methodist Church. Adair County has always been known as a giving community willing to help those in need. The support you show Agape House does just that. We currently serve 35+ clients with more signing up each week for our various programs. As we go into the new year we will be moving to 114 Office Park Dr. After the fire, we procured the current facility with the knowledge that we would at some point need to move because of space issues. We were given the opportunity by Mike Stephens to occupy the Office Park facility and we would like to say a special thank you to him for helping us in this way. The work we do here at the Agape House Pregnancy Resource Center is exciting, rewarding and life changing for those of us involved in the ministry and those who come to us for help. Women who come to us generally continue with one to four appointments per month to meet with her Mentor for three to six months. Together they set goals and take a hard look at and address the circumstances and thinking behind unhealthy life style choices. We don't want our clients to continue to come back year after year with the same problems. We are so blessed when a client will visit us and, very often to bring a friend or relative who needs our help. We want to be able to see her down the road and share her successes. Please contact me at any time with questions and ideas you might have to assist us as we grow. We always love visits, notes of encouragement and phone calls from people who believe in the work we do. We earnestly pray we will be hearing from you too! For Life, s/Stephanie Caldwell, Director This story was posted on 2008-12-22 09:01:08
