Letter: Allan Grimes is KAVFD Firefighter of the year To ColumbiaMagazine.com: Assistant Chief Allan Grimes was awarded Knilfey Area Volunteer Fire Department Firefighter of the Year, Tuesday night, December 16, 2008, at the annual K.A.V.F.D. Christmas banquet. All of our personal from the K.A.V.F.D would like to thank Assistant Chief Grimes for the dedication and effort, going above and deyond to minimize loss of life and property from fire, natural disasters, life threatening situations and to assist other emergency agencies. The Knifley Area Volunteer Fire Department is committed to providing responsible municipal service in an open, effective and efficient manner to all citizens of the local and area communities North and North East of the Green River.
