Obituary: Ruby Jessie, 86. Columbia merchant Mrs. Jessie was a member of a respected Adair County Family, and of the Columbia Baptist Church. She was a long time merchant in Columbia, KY, in business with her late husband, Larue Jessie, and son D.L. Jessie, Jr., in Jessie's Fruit Market, one of Columbia's longest running businesses. Ruby Jessie, 86, formerly of Columbia, KY, died Friday, December 19, 2008, at 6:03amCT, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY. The funeral service will be Monday, December 22, 2008, at 1:00pmCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. C.E. Morrison and Dr. Ted Taylor officiating. Visitation will be after 1:00pmCT, Sunday, December 21, 2008, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery. She was the daughter of the late Walter Lee & Beulah Compton England, the widow of Delmar Larue Jessie, a member of Columbia Baptist Church, and was in business with her late husband and son in Jessie's Fruit Market.
