Early hours fire destroys Yellow Hammer RD house

The Adair County Fire Department responded to a house fire at 3:50amCT, Saturday morning, December 20, 2008, to a residence at 2631 Yellow Hammer Rd off of KY 768 near Fairplay.

The fire occurred on property owned by Sam Franklin.

Upon firefighters arrival house was totally engulfed in fire and the residence was a total loss.There were 18 firemen on the scene for around 1 hour.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.

Fire razes landmark house on Yellow Hammer Rd



2008-12-20 .
A fire early this morning, Saturday, December 20, 2008, razed a landmark house on Yellowhammer Road at the sharp curve intersection with Beckham Loy Road. The house was a one time the residence of the the late Clyde Loy, who was an Adair County Magistrate representing the Third District of Adair County. The photo was taken just before noon. The fire was reported at 3:50amCT this morning.
