Obituary: Ella Mae Bunch, 87


Mrs. Bunch was a member of a highly regarded South Adair County family, a member of the former Rose Chapel Church at Cundiff, and was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom


Ella Mae Bunch, 87, 204 High Street, Columbia, KY, passed away at her home after an illness.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, December 17, 2008, at 11:00amCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, Columbia, KY. The family requests visiting after 4:00pmCT on Tuesday, December 16, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.



She was born August 3, 1921, the daugher of the late Woodie Alva and Mattie Lee Morrison Cape of Adair County, KY.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Bunch, on September 23, 1973; by a brother, Allen Cape, and by three sisters, Lillie Cape, Gladys Bunch, and Ruby Watson.

She is survived by the following:
  • Four nephews: Wayne Bunch of Chicago, IL; Steve Watson, Columbia, KY; Stanley Watson, Columbia, KY; and Michael C. Watson, Harrodsburg, KY
  • And by several great nieces and nephews and a host of friends
  • Mrs. Bunch was a member of the former Rose Chapel Church of Cundiff, KY. She was a retired sewing machine operator at Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville, KY.

    Interment will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, Liberty Road, Columbia, KY.

    Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, Columbia, KY, is in charge of arrangements.
