LWC seminar students raise funds for Ugandan church

By Duane Bonifer, LWC Director of Public Affairs

Lindsey Wilson College students in Jennifer Furkin's "Freshman Seminar" class gave a classmate a special Christmas gift.

The students raised $250 to help Moses Aduny's church back home in his native Uganda.

The students raised the money for the church, Nsangi Christian Embassy, by selling T-shirts in the community.

"It needs a lot of support," said Aduny, who is from Kampala, Uganda.

Aduny's church has more than 200 members, but he said it is woefully short of supplies. The church meets in a makeshift building and does not have access to many Bibles and song books.

Aduny said the $250 raised by his classmates will go a long way toward helping the church build a more established building.

"Bless the students for what they have done," Aduny said. "I just want to thank Madam Jennifer and the students for all they have given to us."
