Obituary: Leonard Ray Taylor, 82

Mr. Taylor was a native of Adair County, a farmer and businessman, and a US Army Veteran who will be accorded military honors by VFW Post 6097

Leonard Ray Taylor, 82, died Friday, December 5, 2008, at 12:56pm, at the VA Medical Center in Lexington, KY.

The funeral service will be Monday, December 8, 2008, at 10:00amCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY. Burial will be in Haven Hill with military honors presented by VFW Post 6097. Visitation will be after 12:00 noon, Sunday, December 7, 2008.

A native of Adair County, he was a son of the late Charles and Ada Estes Taylor, a US Army Veteran, was owner of Leonard Taylor and Son, and a farmer. He was preceded in death by a son, James Leonard Taylor.

He is survived by his wife, Ethel Coy Taylor of Lexington, KY, and the following:
  • Three sons: Russell Ray Taylor and Clifford Allen Taylor, both of Lexington, KY; and Patrick Thomas Taylor, Morehead, KY

  • One daughter: Juanita Davis, Lexington, KY

  • One brother: Norman Taylor, Indiana

  • One sister: Dorothy Curry, Lexington, KY

  • Five grandchildren and four great grandchildren
