Obituary: Mary Wheeler, 87

Mrs. Wheeler was a member of a respected South Adair County family who loved people. She was a longtime cook at the Circle R Restaurant in Columbia, KY

Mary Wheeler, 87, Columbia, KY, died Sunday, November 23, 2008, at 4:50pmCT, at Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg, KY.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, November 26, 2008, at 1:00pmCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY. Burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5:00pmCT, Tuesday, November 25, 2008, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home.

She was a daughter of the late Will and Birdie Morrison Cape of Cundiff and the widow of Charles Wheeler, who preceded her in death in 1977.

Mary Wheeler was a longtime cook at the Circle R Restaurant and loved people. She attended the Columbia First Church of the Nazarene for many years.

Survivors include the following:
  • Her son: Stephen Wheeler, Columbia, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Farrah and her husband Kenneth Wood, Richmond, KY; and Samantha Wheeler, Columbia, KY

  • Two sisters: Mable Thomas, Jamestown, KY; and Norene Byrd, Granite City, IL
