Reader wants to know more about Cobbs plantation About: Greg Burton at Cobbs Plantation To Greg Burton, via ColumbiaMagazine.com: Hello. I am doing a research about a school for the deaf. I'd like to see the Cobbs Plantation location. I live in Cheaterfield. I'll like to see that road plaque your son Andrew posed with and the house of Cobbs plantation. I've been playing baseball league, some football games at the Point of Rocks when I was growing up so I would like to get the sense of Cobbs location. I was surprised to realize Cobbs was in that area, but not in Ettrick; could be more subdivision for last 200 years. VSDB of Staunton has a plaque about Cobbs or so and mentioned EttricWhat is so significant is that there was a school for the deaf for about a year located in Bollings home. It was shortlived due to Brairdwood's drunkness, read A Place of Their Own: Creating the Deaf Community in America, which mentioned Cobbs. s/Ben Bottoms This story was posted on 2008-11-24 01:11:53
