Homemaker's Bazaar a huge success

By Barbara Armitage

It seemed that most of the people of Adair and several surrounding counties all crowded in to the Extension Office in Columbia to attend the Homemaker's Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, November 22, 2008. Home baked goodies and hand crafted items flew out the door with happy customers.

The morning was a whirlwind of activity. The highlight of the day of course was the much anticipated arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus. Flying in from the North Pole especially to visit with us Santa and his wife were welcome guests.

There were several reports of reindeer sightings near the Bazaar and although Santa told the reindeer to remain invisible Rudolf made such a racket with his sleigh bells that Santa had to take them away from him. All was quiet after that.

One of Santa and Mrs. Claus's first duties when they arrived at the Extension Homemaker's Holiday Bazaar on Saturday morning was to read several special delivery letters from local "good boys and girls".

Seen here with a letter from Jared, Santa assured me that he does read every letter that we send to him and that we all still have plenty of time to get our letters to the North Pole.

If you missed the chance to visit with Santa don't worry I understand that he will be making appearances in other locations in the area before Christmas.
