What is significance of quilts on barns? About: Quilt Barn on Gertrude Browning Place To ColumbiaMagazine.com: I see the quilt pattern on the barn, but what is the reason for it being on the barn? Does it have significance for this particular farm? s/Charles Marshburn Sorry CM did not state the obvious. Mrs. Browning's daughter, Vicki Browning Pike, cannot abide uncouth cows. The artwork is to enrich their lives. After all, cows are people, too. If motorists along the parkway enjoy the art, that's a bonus. The quilt also has distlefinkian functions and brings good fortune, I'm sure. -EW This story was posted on 2008-11-23 03:40:27
