Obituary: Clyde Brown, 80

Mr. Brown was a respected member of the Walnut Grove Community in Casey County a retired custodian at the Casey County Technical School, and was a deacon at Walnut Grove Baptist Church. Two daughters are long time residents of Adair County

Mr. Clyde Brown, 80, Hwy 910, Liberty, KY, died Monday, November 17, 2008, at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, KY.

The funeral service will be at Walnut Hill Baptist Church, south of LIberty off US 127 (across from Walnut Hill School), at 2:30pmET Thursday, November 20, 2008, with Bro. Clifton Cowan and Bro. Donnie Coffey the officiating clergy. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 19, 2008, from 6:00 to 9:00pmET/5:00 to 8:00pmCT, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, and Thursday from 9:00am to 2:30pmET at the church.



He was born June 29, 1928, in Casey County, KY, the son of the late Gillen Brown and Nancy Jane Byrd Brown

Mr. Brown was a retired custodian at the Casey County Technical School and was a deacon at Walnut Hill Baptist Church in Casey County.

He is survived by his wife, Christine Baxter Brown, Liberty, KY, and the following:
  • A son: Gale Brown and his wife LInda Brown of Liberty, KY

  • Two daughters: Pam and her husband Dan Farr, Columbia, KY; and Linda and her husband Mike Collins of Glens Fork, KY

  • Five grandchildren, five step grandchildren, five great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren
  • A brother: Elmer Brown, Liberty, KY

  • Two sisters: Orine Richardson and Rosie Cravens, both of Liberty, KY
Burial will be in the Casey County Memorial gardens.

Pallbearers will be Mr. Brown's grandsons.

McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, Liberty, KY, is in charge of Funeral arrangements.
