Obituary: Kenneth Neil Parnell, 67

Mr. Parnell was the head of a large family. He leaves 44 direct descendants

Kenneth Neil Parnell, 67, Hodgenville, KY, died Wednesday, November 12, 2008, at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville, KY.

He was the son of the late Albert and Lora Strader Parnell. He was a disabled tree trimmer.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pmCT, at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton, KY, with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00pmCT until 8:00pm, Saturday, November 15, 2008, and after 9:00amCT at the funeral home.



He is survived by his wife, Nora Rodgers Parnell and the following:
  • Six sons: Kenny (Shawn) Parnell, Knob Lick, KY; Don (Nancy) Parnell, Knob Lick, KY; Kendall Parnell, Elizabethtown, KY; Roger Parnell, Elizabethtown, KY; Charlie (Donna) Parnell, Columbia, KY; and Lindsey Floyd Parnell, Hodgenville, KY.

  • Three daughters: Kathy (Charles) Tarter, Columbia, KY; Lora (Danny Burton, Little Barren, KY; and Carolyn (Russell) Head of Elizabethtown

  • Three sisters: Audrey Blaydes, Dorothy Hall, and Marie Pierce

  • And by 35 grandchildren
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two children, Janet Parnell and Troy Parnell; a daughter in law, Kim Parnell; two brothers, Rev. J.T.Parnell and Lemmon Parnell; and one sister, Virginia "Jenny" Parnell and three grandchildren.
