By Chris Wells, LWC Director of Sports Information

Lindsey Wilson College freshman forward Louise Christensen scored twice to help the top-seeded Blue Raiders past Georgetown (KY) College 3-0 Wednesday night, November 12, 2008, in the Mid-South Conference Tournament semifinals at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.

Christensen -- who was named MSC Women's Soccer Freshman of the Year earlier in the day -- scored both of her goals less than a minute apart.

Fourth-seeded Georgetown played the Blue Raiders tough for the first 80 minutes. Despite out-shooting the Lady Tigers 19-1 for the game, Lindsey Wilson couldn't beat Georgetown goalkeeper Krista Shouse until the final 10 minutes of the game.

Christensen scored her first of two goals in the 83rd minute off an assist from junior defender Yolanda Hamilton. She netted her second less than a minute later to give the Blue Raiders a 2-0 lead.

Freshman Rikke Bottcher completed the scoring in the 86th to give the Blue Raiders the win.

Lindsey Wilson advances to Thursday's tournament finals where they will face No. 3 seed Campbellsville (KY) University -- who advanced on penalty kicks after a 2-2 tie with second-seeded University of the Cumberlands (KY) in the other semifinal. Kick-off for the championship match is scheduled for 5:00pmCT.

Prior to the game, Lindsey Wilson sophomore forward Kimmia Parker was named MSC Player of the Year. Coach Drew Burwash was named MSC Coach of the Year as voted on by his peers. Parker and Christensen were joined on the all-conference team by Bottcher, Hamilton, freshman Ida Gregersen, junior Anne Houilston, sophomore Satsuki Kato, and junior Carrie Revlett.
