Obituary: Emerson Reece, 81, Edmonton

Emerson Reece, 81, Edmonton, KY, died Tuesday, November 4, 2008, at Metcalfe Health Care in Edmonton.

He was the son of the late John Weldon and Pearlie Reece.

Mr. Reece was a retired carpenter and a member of the Church of Christ.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00pmCT, Thursday, November 6, 2008, at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton, with burial in the New Liberty Cemetery.



He is survived by his wife, Lougene Reece of Edmonton, KY, and the following:
  • One daugher: Patricia and her husband Ted Pedigo, Winchester, KY

  • Five step chldren: Larry (Mary) Devore, Edmonton, KY; Sandy (Junior) Thompson, Freedom, KY; Wally (Norma) Devore, Glasgow, KY; Joan (Eddie) Gassaway, Edmonton; and Teena (Ronnie) Taulbee, Winchester, KY

  • Four grandchildren, seven step grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and seven step great grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Louise Devore Reece; one son, Larry Reece; and one sister, Lois Wells.

Visitation will be from 4:30pm until 8:00pmCT, Wednesday, November 5, 2008, and after 9:00amCT, Thursday, November 6, 2008, at the funeral home.
