More than 400 attend LWC Safe Halloween

More than 400 area children participated in Lindsey Wilson College's 15th-annual "Safe Halloween" on Thursday night.The children, accompanied by their parents and guardians, were escorted by Lindsey Wilson students through four of the college's residence halls where LWC residential students gave our handfuls of candy.

LWC Safe Halloween: Jason Voorhies at Phillips Hall

Jarrett Perkins, dressed as the horror film icon Jason Vorhees, and his sister, Mary Perkins, dressed as a bride, receive candy from Phillips Hall residents on Thursday night, October 30, 2008, at Lindsey Wilson College's 15th-annual "Safe Halloween." They were brought to the event by their mother, Krystal Perkins (not pictured). The Phillips Hall floor, which had a Little Mermaid theme, was named one of two best-decorated halls by Lindsey Wilson judges. It tied with another Phillips Hall floor, which was decorated in a Pocahontas theme. The two floors won a pizza party.

For Columbia residents Katie Burton, center, and Haley Cromwell, far right, and their fellow traveler, left, Parrott Hall's "The Insane Asylum" was a little frightening. Haley's mother, Tina Cox, brought the two girls to this year's "Safe Halloween." Parrott Hall's "Asylum" was named most scary by the LWC judges, winning the hall's residents a pizza party.
