Obituary: Morris Pike, 77

Mr. Pike was a member of a respected Adair County family. He was a retired veteran of Korea and Vietnam, having served in the United States Navy

Morris Pike, 77, 2384 Russell Springs Road, Columbia, KY, passed away Friday, October 31, 2008, at 11:00pm at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, KY.

He was February 22, 1931, the son of the late Finis and Florence Goodin Pike of Adair County.



He is survived by the following:
  • One son: Jeff Pike and his wife Charlene, Columbia, KY

  • One daughter: Vicki Hanley, Columbia, KY

  • One son: Jeff Pike and his wife Charlene, Columbia, KY

  • One brother: Lonnie Pike, Somerset, KY

  • Four sisters: Ida Mae Stephens, Indianapolis, IN; Shirley Stephens, Naples, FL; Madeline Lincoln, Dallas, TX; and Dorothy Fischer of West Palm Pech, FL

  • Three grandchildren: Evan Pike, Kami Pike, and Tabitha Hanley

  • And several other relatives and a host of friends
He was preceded in death by three sisters: Brenda Kaye Pike, Nellie States, and Evelyn Knab.

Mr. Pike was a retired veteran of Korea and Vietnam, having served honorably in the United States Navy.

The funeral service is Monday, November 3, 2008, at 11:00amCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, Columbia, KY, with Rev. Vitis Bailey the officiating clergy.

Interment will be in the New Hope Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 2, 2008, after 2:00pmCT, and after 6:00amCT until time for the service, Monday morning, November 3, 2008, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST., Columbia, KY.
