The Family Place receives Cowherd Award at Galt House The Family Place Family Resource Center, serving Col. Wm. Casey and John Adair Intermediate Schools, was presented the 2008 Harry J. Cowherd M.D., Award for Center Excellence in Family Resource Centers on Wednesday, October 29, 2008. This prestigious award was given at the Galt House in Louisville, KY at the annual Fall Institute Conference for Family Resource and Youth Services Centers. Among the Adair Countians attending were Betty Knifley, John Adair Intermediate School Counselor and Advisory Council Member, Patty Jones, Col. Wm. Casey School Principal, Darrell Treece, Superintendent, Paula Garrison, Family Resource Center Coordinator, Angie Smith, Assistant Coordinator, and Jelaine Phillips, Collaborative partner from Lake Cumberland District Health Department Health Educator and Advisory Council Member, and Phyllis Thompson, Youth Services Center Coordinator.
