Driver, passenger extricated from overturned semi

The driver of a 1994 Mack truck and trailer and his 11 year old passenger had to be extricated from the vehicle after it overturned on KY 327, 4 miles north of Lebanon, KY on Sunday morning at approximately 1:30pmET Saturday morning, October 18, 2008.

William P. Gardner III, was traveling eastbound on KY 327 when the vehicle dropped off the right side of the roadway. The driver overcorrected, causing the truck and trailer to overturn and lose its contents.




Gardner and a passenger, Samantha Gardner, 11, were extricated from the vehicle.Samantha Gardner was transported to Springview Hospital in Lebanon, KY, then later was flown to Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville, KY, for the injuries she sustained in the accident. Neither occupant was belted at the time of the accident.

The accident was investigated by Trooper Nathan Rhodes of Kentucky State Trooper Post 15, Columbia, KY.
