RMH Charities executive director thanks community

The following was received at the Columbia Adair County Chamber of Commerce from Sarah Warner, Executive Director Executive Director,Ronald McDonald House Charities following the highly Wish List Drop Off in Columbia

To all of our Friends at the Columbia-Adair County Chamber of Commerce:
Thank you for everything! You are wonderful!

By Sarah Warner,

On behalf of the staff, board, volunteers and especially the families who stay with us each night, I want to extend to you our sincerest appreciation for your overwhelming support by "adopting" our Wish List!

We simply couldn't believe it when we saw all of the boxes of items you collected! WOW! Every single thing you donated from the toiletries and cleaning supplies and to the food and kitchen items will be put to excellent use to help the families who stay with us at our "home away from home" while their children are receiving medical care in Lexington and Louisville.

In addition to offering families a warm and comfortable place to sleep, we provide free transportation three times a day to area hospitals, and free laundry facilities for our families to use during their stay.

We keep our kitchen stocked with essentials for families who may not have the resources or the time to buy groceries during their stay. Additionally, several community organizations are kind enough to come to the House and prepare home cooked meals in our kitchen each night.

All in all, we do our best to make the Ronald McDonald House feel like a home and to offer a caring and supportive place where families can cope with their pain, stress, and fear as their child undergoes medical treatments.

At a time when we have been nearly overwhelmed by the increasing need for our services and the rising cost of utilities and supplies, your kindness has helped us tremendously! We are truly blessed by all that the members of the Columbia-Adair County Chamber of Commerce did to help the Ronald McDonald Houses as we head into our very busy holiday season.

A special thank-you to all Adair Countians who also assisted the Chamber with the Ronald McDonald House project.

Thank you for all that you have done to benefit our community and for making the commitment and finding the time to support the Ronald McDonald Houses during these challenging economic times.

Thank you for everything! You are wonderful!

From our House to yours...best wishes for a happy, healthy and successful holiday season ahead!
