Obituary: Beatrice Burton, 92

Mrs. Burton was member of Trinity United Methodist Church and of a very large, respected northeastern Adair County family

Beatrice Burton, 92, a resident of Summit Manor Health & Rehab, died Friday, October 17, 2008, at 8:15amCT, at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, KY.

The funeral service will be Sunday, October 19, 2008, at 2:00pmCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY, with Rev. Garry Jones officiating. Burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5:00pmCT, Saturday, October 18, 2008, at the funeral home.



She was a daughter of the late Sam Loren and Gracie Smith Burton and a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Lewis Burton, and three brothers, Clyde, Willie Curtis and Clinton "Griff" Burton.

He is survived by the following:
  • One grandson: Larry Wayne Burton, Liberty, KY

  • Two sisters: Nellie Garrett and Inez Roden, both of Columbia, KY

  • A sister in law: Virginia Burton, Columbia, KY

  • Two great-granddaughters, several nieces, nephews, and friends
