Sixteen year old Columbian dies as result of State Park Rd. crash UPDATED STORY: 6:22pmCT, Thursday, October 16, 2008 One person died and two other occupants were injured as the result of a crash caused by a rainslick roadway, at 3:00pmCT, today, Thursday, October 15, 2008. The accident occurred 2 miles south of Columbia on State Park Road. Tasha Pelston, 16, Columbia, KY, a passenger, died as a result of injuries she sustained in the accident. She was prounounced deceased at the Taylor County Hospital in Campbellsville by Taylor County Hospital. According to the KSP, the driver, LInda Pelston, 47, was northbound on State Park Road, met another vehicle and applied the brakes and lost control because of the wet road way, overturned, and ejected both passengers. Linda Pelston, 47, the driver,and Ronnie Pelston, 42, a passenger both residents of Columbia, KY, were treated and released at Westlake Regional Hospital in Columbia.No seatbelts were in use at the time of the accident, according to police.
