Marvin T. Grider Sr., 83, dies in Edinburgh, IN


Mr. Grider was from Adair County, KY, and had many friends in the Columbia area. He was vey respected here

Marvin T. Grider Sr., 83, died Thursday, October 9, 2008, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin, IN. He was a resident of Edinburgh, IN, and was retired from Webbs.

The Rev. Bill Tennyson will conduct a service at 10amCT, Tuesday, October 14, 2008, at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home, 302 E. Main Cross St., Edinburgh. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00pm, Monday, October 13, 2008, at the funeral home. Edinburgh American Legion Post 233 will conduct military graveside rites at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh, IN.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanette (Adamson) Grider, and the following:
  • Two sons: Marvin T. (Rochelle) Grider Jr. of Greensburg IN, and Vernon L. (Jan) Grider of Edinburgh, IN

  • A daughter: Annette (David) McQueen of Flat Rock, IN

  • A sister: Mary E. Bryant of Columbia, KY

  • Seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren

  • Several nieces and nephews from Kentucky including Jerry, Kenny, Ricky and Waldo Adamson, Tommie Bryant, Sheila Carter and Barbara Shepherd
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Zemar (Smiley) Grider.
